Cobalt blue, graphite greys, emerald greens, all colours that some might run a mile from. Safer options, like Oxford Stone and French Grey we find sit more comfortably with clients. Being bold with colour however, can pay off in certain settings and inject personality and life into what can be a very ordinary space; Kingston Lafferty Design does exactly that in this stunning Ballsbridge residence. A family home, combining two adjoining properties. The need for balance between open family space as well as some more private space for mum & dad to relax in, was a key consideration.
Cue the reading room. Painted top to bottom in opulent blue, this library completely owns the colour. Architrave’s and skirting blend seamlessly into the walls, giving a sense of continuity to the space. What’s great about getting your paint brushes out & being bold with colour, is that your home is instantly transformed and you don’t have to take out a mortgage to do it.
